Save money and Time with your own DIY Turtle Tank filter!

A few years ago I rescued a red ear slider. She had been given to my little niece and after months of neglect by her mom, I decided to adopt as my own.

Her homes have been a bubble tank, a 10 gallon and now a 20 gallon long.

She got a yellow belly friend over a year ago and they have both grown to be as large as the palm of my hand.

What is the problem?

I soon found that Turtles produce major waste and maintaining clean and oderless water is a major issue.

I have bought over 4 filters and found them to be costly and cause great nuisance with the filter cleaning sessions.

So after spending $100 on a large Magnum and growing tired of the cleaning I decided to built my own DIY powerhead carbon filter.

What you need for your DIY Carbon Powerhead Filter?

• Powerhead Head filter $16.00
• Plastic Container $1.00
• Silicone $3.99
• Carbon media pouch $2.99
• Carbon media $6.00

Step #1

Grab your Carbon media and do the regular washing of small particles.

Put as much as you can get into the pouch and insert in the container.

Step #2

Use the silicon and seal the ending from filter to the top of the container. Give it 24hr to 48hrs.

That's it. Pretty much works much better than my $100 Magnun 250. And cleaning is just way easy. I can get a whole new container for less than $5 and replace it with a clean one less than 20 seconds.

You can get a couple in advanced and have them ready for replacement or trade between only crystals or carbon.
